History
Established SMP GmbH due to increasing demand for validation and verification of surgical instrument cleaning.
Leveraging expertise in surgical instruments and hygiene and experience in various collaborative research projects, SMP GmbH supports medical device companies to comply with requirements such as recycling and hygiene required by the Medical Device Directive (MDD).
SMP GmbH was established in May 2000 with close cooperation and support with the founders of the Medical Device Testing Center (PMP). PMP has been involved in scientific and medical Reutlingen Institute (NMI), Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), and hospital hygiene at the University of Tubingen Hospital.
Since PMP supported the development of profitable development and new test methods for validation, SMP has become independent and has developed more specialized services.

To support and protect our customers during the development of medical devices, SMP GmbH offers customized hygiene-related testing and more. Validation of the regeneration process supports validation testing of the requirements required for successful sales of new products.
Standard and legal requirements
SMP GmbH contributes to national and international developments in regulations, standards and guidelines and participates in technical committees and standards working groups.
Conformity test
SMP GmbH offers a variety of test kits, training and protocol development assistance for performance assessment of cleaning and disinfection processes. Test kits are manufactured and evaluated according to DIN EN ISO 17025: 2005.
